Left side of barrel has the highly desirable acid etched panel: "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER." Factory letter states the revolver was shipped on June 12, 1882 and delivered to E.K. Tryon, Jr. & Co. of Philadelphia, PA with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .44 caliber, blue finish, and type of stocks not listed. This was a three gun shipment. "RLS" stamped on right grip panel. The revolver's serial number is pictured in Don Wilkerson's "Colt's Double-Auction Revolver, Model of 1878" on page 165. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

Good overall with traces of original finish in the protected areas, mottled brown patina on the balance, legible acid etched panel, some softened grip checkering. Mechanically fine.
