This is one of the rare transition models between the Richards and the Richards-Mason models (refer to "The Book of Colt Firearms" by Sutherland and Wilson, p. 220-221 and "Flayderman's Guide" 5B-119). Colt factory ledgers indicate that fifty Model 1860 Army revolvers with the "old style hammer" were altered to the "new style hammer" on December 14, 1878. The serial number range was within 190000-197000. The revolver has matching visible numbers.

Good as cleaned with gray and brown patina, light pitting, and mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
