Factory letter states the revolver was shipped on December 16, 1891 to Colt's London Agency in London, England with a 5 1/2 inch barrel in .455 caliber, blue finish and type of stocks not listed. This was a 100 gun shipment. Top strap has a London retailer marking: "COGSWELL & HARRIS ON/226 STRAND LONDON." Left side of frame marked "1392512" followed by "B448" stamped upside down. Right side of barrel stamped "W1628." British proofed. The revolver is pictured and identified in Don Wilkerson's "Colt's Double-Action Revolver Model of 1878" on page 361. Very good overall with some original finish, brown-gray patina on the balance, chip on left grip panel, some softened grip checkering. Mechanically works in double action only.
