Description:

Only 6,150 New Model 1863 rifles with front sights doubling as bayonet lugs were manufactured c. 1863-1865 (C,30000-C,40000 range) compared to over 60,000 New Model 1863 carbines, making them a desirable Sharps variation.

Rating Definition:

Fair, with gray and brown patina, and scattered mild pitting and wear. Wood is good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered dents and scratches. Absent mainspring retaining screw inside the lock, absent internal primer mechanism components, otherwise mechanically fine.
