Description:

1) U.S. N.P. Ames cavalry sword, 39 1/2" OAL, 34" quillback blade with wire-etched "United States" and "1837" markings, brass guard with "NC" on the rear quillion, leather grip and iron scabbard. 2) U.S. N. Starr cavalry sword, 39" OAL, 34" curved blade with "P/HHP" stamps, iron guard, leather grip, iron scabbard.

Rating Definition:

1) Good, with a break in the guard, shallow blade pitting, and mild wear overall. 2) Fair, with shallow blade pitting, loss of grip material, and mild wear overall.
