Description:

1) U.S. Ames 1840 heavy cavalry sword, 41 1/2" OAL, 36" double fuller blade dated "1846", brass hilt, leather grip, iron scabbard. 2) U.S. Emerson & Silver NCO sword, 37 1/2" OAL, 31 1/2" single fuller blade dated "1863", brass hilt marked "DFM", iron scabbard.

Rating Definition:

1) Good, with mild spotting and handling marks overall. The scabbard has been repainted black, with some scuffs and flaking. 2) Fair. The blade shows areas of heat discoloration, pitting near the tip, with an aged patina on the brass and some scuffing and loose components on the scabbard.
