Description:

Manufactured c. late 1700s, top barrel flat signed "JxBrooks", converted to percussion, Ketland & Co. marked lock, brass plate added to the bottom of the forward grip area.

Rating Definition:

Good, with traces of original finish mixed with dark patina, some light flash pitting, and a few minor cracks/chips and scattered minor handling marks on the wood. Mechanically functions with trigger set and no half-cock notch.

Description:

Originally manufactured c. late 1700s by Jacob Hoake (Hoak) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, converted to percussion, lock with faint Goulcher marking, stock shortened to half-stock configuration, patchbox lid does not properly latch, a few collection markings on the wrist and lock area.

Rating Definition:

Fair, with some original finish, scattered pitting/oxidation, and the modified wood having cracks, chips, dings, and an iron plate added to the right of the barrel tang. Mechanically functions.
