One of only 55,000 M1911A1 pistols delivered to U.S. Ordnance by Union Switch & Signal Co. in 1943. "S P" (U.S Springfield Armory) marked replacement barrel, and faint circled "R.C.D." (Lt. Col. R.C. Downie) inspector mark retained on the left of the frame. Fitted with a pair of replacement double-diamond pattern checkered laminate grips and a blued later replacement government contract magazine. Includes a "U.S." embossed M1916 pattern leather holster with illegible manufacturer's mark.

Fine as refinished, retaining most of the finish, with some re-stamped markings, thinning on the front grip strap with grey patina and light freckling, minor pitting/spotting, and some light handling marks under the finish. The replacement grips are excellent. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good.
