Description:

1) Japanese NCO sword, 36" OAL, 26 1/2" single fuller blade, with a metal hilt and sheath. A stick has been tied to the grip, and a length of bamboo has been modified into a transport/shipping case, which has been marked for a private with the 17th Infantry. 2) Shin gunto pattern sword, 36 1/2" OAL, 26" blade with straight temper line, standard hilt, metal saya. One mekugi-ana, with two carved symbols and three painted symbols on the right side of the tang, seven carved on the left.

Rating Definition:

1) Good, with mild spotting and wear overall. 2) Fair, with areas of polishing and pitting on the blade.
