Bore Condition: The bore is shiny with strong rifling and some oxidation near the muzzle.
Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1919. "SA/flaming bomb/12-27" marked barrel, "S" bolt, and "R" bolt sleeve. Fitted with a "S.A./G.A.W." (U.S. Springfield Armory, Col. George A. Woody) and "ordnance wheel" cartouched 'scant' profile walnut stock.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, with some minor edge wear, some minor spotting/brown patina on the barrel band and buttplate, dried grease, and minor handling marks. The arsenal replacement stock is also very fine with some scattered minor dents and scrapes. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1944, from the end of the third production block (serial number range 4,879,526 to 5,549,821) manufactured by Inland Manufacturing Division from January to August 1944, with this range running into Winchester's second production block range. "6-44" dated Inland barrel, "MMQ" type III barrel band with "EM-Q" bayonet lug, "N" marked front sight, "I.R.CO." type III adjustable peep rear sight, "S" type III operating rod, "W" parkerized flat-top bolt, and "N" milled trigger housing with "J.A.O." flip safety, "E.I." type IV magazine catch, and "SW" type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut low-wood stock marked "IR/ordnance bomb" in the sling channel along with an added small compass insert on top of the butt, an "W" marked two-rivet handguard, and a blued "UN" magazine. Includes a web sling, metal oiler, "G.B.CO. 1943" marked web dual magazine pouch, and a spare magazine in wax wrapping. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 15 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 15 rounds. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding.

Rating Definition:

Fine as refinished, with four empty screw holes drilled and tapped into the left side of the receiver, dried grease, some small patches of corrosion showing in protected areas, and some minor handling marks. The stock is very good as sanded, re-oiled, and modified on the left side to accommodate the aforementioned screw holes, with scattered handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
