Developed towards the end of World War II, the Sterling Submachine Gun was the direct successor to the STEN as Britain's go-to main line submachine gun, in active use through the 1950s and into the 1990s. An evolution of the tubular receiver design exemplified by the British STEN and German MP-40, the Sterling had a reputation for reliability and accuracy, and was adopted by a number of military and police units as their close quarters battle weapon. Post front and two-leaf peep rear sights, with a bayonet lug on the ventilated heat shield, Sterling markings on the magazine well, import marks on the right side of the trigger housing, checkered pistol grip, "A/R/S" selector, and an underfolding buttstock. The bolt is fitted with a fixed firing pin and integral spiral ribbing, with a dual-spring recoil assembly. Included with the lot are four extra magazines and a manual. Excellent, with nearly all of the original finish and some minor handling marks. Some light scratches are present on the very fine grip. Mechanically excellent.
