Bore Condition: The bore is mostly shiny with crisp rifling and some minor frosting in the grooves.
Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1905, "SA/flaming bomb/05" markings added to the barrel, with "*" star gauge marking on the muzzle, re-chambered for .30-03 Springfield (which was phased out for the improved .30-06 Springfield chambering in 1906), early pattern rear sight ladder graduated to 2,400 yards, "S35" marking added to the straight-handle bolt, and reproduction early pattern flag safety with a single bearing surface. Fitted with a reproduction early pattern 'high-hump' walnut handguard, without barrel springs or a sight line clearance groove, and a reproduction 'S' pattern grasping groove walnut stock without recoil bolts and marked with a boxed "JSA/1905" cartouche on the left of the wrist. Includes a green CMP hard case.

Rating Definition:

Fine as refinished/assembled to 1905 pattern .30-03 M1903 configuration, retaining much of the finish with minor cycling wear, plum coloration on the barrel and rear sight base, some minor handling marks and a few patches of minor pitting under the finish, some visible brown and grey patina, and minor handling evidence. The reproduction stock and handguard are also very fine as sanded and re-oiled with some minor chips and numerous minor handling marks. The bolt sticks at the rear of travel, otherwise mechanically fine.
