Description:

Receiver manufactured in April 1944, "2 S A 5 44" marked replacement barrel with finished chamber ring, post-war gas cylinder, World War II era type 2 lock-bar rear sight assembly, unmodified curved-side "9 SA" operating rod, "-12SA/W10B<>" bolt, "12" follower, and "-12-SA" trigger housing with "-5 SA" hammer, "SA-11" safety, and unmarked milled trigger guard. Fitted with a boxed "S.A./G.A.W." (U.S. Springfield Armory, Col. George A. Woody) inspection cartouched walnut stock set.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally refinished and assembled back to World War II configuration, with plum coloration on the receiver, scattered minor patches of freckling/brown patina showing on the barrel, operating rod, bands, buttplate, and front sight, minor cycling wear, and some minor handling marks. The stock is exceptionally fine with some minor scrapes and dents, along with a crisp cartouche and attractive oil finish. Mechanically excellent.
