A) U.S. Springfield Model 1864 Smoothbored Rifle-Musket

Bore Condition: The enlarged smooth bore is darkened with pitting/corrosion.
Description:

"1864" dated tail of the lock with the Federal Eagle and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" at the front, non-visible barrel date, "V/P/eagle head" proofs at the upper left breech of the barrel, an added diamond shaped pearl inlay in the left stock flat, and a filled in area where a shield inlay once resided on the right of the buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Good with scattered pitting, freckling and wear. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, chips, scratches, some small holes, and a few re-glued cracks visible around the top of the wrist. Absent rear sight. Absent percussion nipple, otherwise the lock mechanically functions.

Absent rear sight, absent front trigger guard screw, and absent sling swivels. Non-functional, mechanically needs work.
