Bore Condition: The bore is dark and has oxidation/pitting and distinct rifling.
Description:

This rifle is an interesting example of the third type of Cochran turret rifles manufactured by Cyrus B. Allen in Springfield, Massachusetts, in the mid to late 1830s. "201" is marked on the various components. The turret is has the matching serial number, and its brass cog is also marked "1824". The matching numbered breech plate also has "1824" by the top strap latch. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

Rating Definition:

Good with gray and brown patina, brazed repaired frame, replacement wrist escutcheon, mild pitting, and general mild wear. Mechanically needs work.
