Bore Condition: The bore is dark and has distinct rifling and pitting.
Description:

The barrel is signed "D. Marker", and the lock appears to be marked "GOLCHER". There were several members of the Marker family working as gunmakers in the first half of the 19th century in Sharpsburg, Maryland; Martinsburg, West Virginia; and Ohio, including Captain Daniel Marker (1778-1854), his son Reverend Daniel Marker Jr. (1806-1887), and their nephew/cousin of the same name.

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina on the barrel and lock, replacement parts, repairs in the stock (including spliced), and general moderate wear. Mechanically fine.
