Appears to have an early 19th century barrel signed "S * M" or "J * M". English style crown mark below the pan and "crown/6" inside the lock.

Good as custom built with a reconverted antique barrel with gray and brown patina and some vice marks and pitting towards the breech, aged patina on the silver and brass mounts, distinct engraving on the patchbox, cracks in the forend tip and breech end on the left, and some scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.

Manufactured c. 1830-1850. The barrel appears to be signed "ASJ". "JOSEPH/GOLCHER" marked lock. Nicely engraved patchbox and silver eagle and shield engraved cheekpiece inlay.

Good with mostly dark patina, oxidation/pitting, some wood loss at the edges and breech, distinct engraving, and mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
