Bore Condition: The bore darkened and has distinct rifling and mild oxidation/pitting.
Description:

The barrel is marked "A. LEONARD/CAST. STEEL/S.R. V.T" surrounded by scrollwork. Artemas Leonard of Saxton's River, Vermont, (1804-1859) was a noted gunmaker as was his son George O. Leonard who took over after his death.

Rating Definition:

Good with some old refinished blue, gray and brown patina, pitting concentrated at the breech, chips and slivers absent from the stock, crack below the lock, and moderate wear. Mechanically fine.
