Description:

The factory letter lists this rifle as "invoiced on December 6, 1876, to Sharp's General Agent, E.S. Harris of 177 Broadway, New York City. It is noted as a Model 1874 Mid-Range Target Rifle #3. The calibre was .40 and the list price was $45. There was a discount of 30% given to this general agent." The chart on page 230 of "Sharps Firearms" by Frank Sellers indicates that only four Bridgeport No. 3 Model 1874 Mid-Range Rifles were manufactured between January 1876 and December 1877.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored overall with minor wear and some faint pitting under the finish. The lever trips the hammer when fully closed; otherwise, it is mechanically fine.
