This early Model 1851 Navy was manufactured in 1850 (the first year of production) and is one of possibly as few as 800 Model 1851 Navy revolvers manufactured with the barrel wedge positioned over the screw that distinguish the First Models. It has the matching serial number "798" on the cylinder, wedge, arbor, loading lever arm, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

Good with aged patina on the silver and brass, mostly gray patina on the barrel, cylinder, and frame with scattered light patches of pitting, renumbered loading lever, refinished lightly sanded grip with small chips, and general mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
