Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1860, the first year of production, and is one of about 4,000 Colt Model 1860 Army revolvers manufactured with the full fluted cylinder. This revolver has the very scarce early production 7 1/2 inch barrel which is actually even scarcer than the fluted cylinder with only an estimated 2,800 Model 1860 Army revolvers with this barrel length. The barrel has the early "-ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT.-" barrel marking. Many of these early Model 1860 Army revolvers were shipped to the South before the outbreak of the Civil War. "150" is marked on the cylinder, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

Rating Definition:

Very good with gray and brown patina on the iron, attractive aged patina on the brass, some oxidation, and moderate wear. The re-oiled grip is also very good with the period added German silver accents and mild wear. Mechanically fine.
