Bore Condition: The bore is partially darkened with distinct rifling.
Description:

"1863" dated tail of the lock with "U.S./COLT'S Pt F.A. Mfg Co/HARTFORD Ct" marked center of the lock, Federal Eagle marked right of the bolster, "1863" dated top breech of the barrel with "V/P/eagle head proofs at the upper left, and two bordered script cartouches stamped on the left stock flat.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished, with brown and gray patina, scattered pitting, and defined markings in the metal. Replacement front lock screw. Stock is also good as varnished, with repaired cracks visible in the wrist, and scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
