Description:

Approximately 5,700 of these rifles were originally manufactured by Simeon North between 1830-1836, but relatively fewer have survived. According to page 467 of George D. Moller's book "American Military Shoulder Arms Volume II" this example is one of approximately 600 manufactured by Simeon North in the year 1830; which is significant as the first year North manufactured Hall rifles. "U.S/S.NORTH/MIDLtn/CONN./1830" marked on the breech block.

Rating Definition:

Good with gray and brown patina, and scattered pitting and wear. Stock is also good as re-oiled, with cracks, a few reattached cracked sections and a chipped absent section visible on top behind the frame, and scattered light dents and scratches. Absent top jaw and screw, otherwise mechanically fine.
