A) European Percussion Conversion Musket with "1747" Dated Lock

Description:

Faintly visible "1747" date marking on the lock, no visible barrel markings.

Rating Definition:

Good as period converted to percussion and refinished, with brown patina, pitting and wear. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered dents, scratches, cracks, and a chipped absent section on bottom behind the rear ramrod ferrule. Mechanically fine.

Description:

No visible outer markings on the lock, with "P GIRARD" on top of the barrel, with "V LENE" next so an "S(fleur-de-lis)F" St. Etienne proof at the upper left breech of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished/assembled, with brown patina, pitting and wear. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, scratches, cracks, and a few absent sections. Absent rear lock screw, lock is loose and non-functional with no spring pressure, mechanically needs work.
