Manufactured in 1943, "ce" code and "43" date on the "eagle/280" proofed receiver ring, with a 'short rail' pattern base screwed onto the left side of the receiver. "Eagle/37" proofed barrel. Matching visible serial numbers on the bolt assembly, trigger housing, magazine floor plate, rear sight, and both barrel bands. Fitted with a "bmj" code Dialytan 4x scope (serial number "66496") with mount matching numbered to the rifle and an unmarked laminate stock. Includes a rubber muzzle cap and a pair of reproduction leather lens covers.

Fine as arsenal refurbished, subsequently professionally reconfigured to short rail sniper configuration, retaining much of the finish with some minor pitting under the finish, some minor edge wear, some thinning on the balance with visible brown and grey patinas, and minor handling marks. The stock is very fine as sanded with minor handling marks. The scope is excellent with mostly clear optics.
