One of approximately 7250 manufactured in 1940. "Eagle/359" proofs on many components, "480" on the left side of the slide and frame, and the grips are numbered "875" on the left and "879" on the right; the right panel, only 4 digits off, may have been swapped in a factory error, or a mix-up during service with a pistol from the same batch.

Good, with some pitting concentrated around the muzzle, a gray patina on the frontstrap, bright edge wear, and scattered spotting and handing marks. Some grind marks are present, with two spots on the left side of the slide and a single patch on the right side of the frame; the purpose of these is unclear. Grips are very good, with some light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
