Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1944, from the third production block (serial number range 4,879,526 to 5,549,821) manufactured by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors from January to August 1944, with this range running into Winchester's second production block range. "2-44" dated Inland barrel, "diamond" marked type III barrel band, "U" marked front sight, "PI" type II adjustable peep rear sight, "HSA" type V operating rod, "IO" parkerized round-top bolt, and milled "SA" trigger housing with "J.A.O" rotary safety, unmarked type V magazine catch, and "WA" type III hammer. Fitted with a birch M2 'pot-belly' profile stock marked "M/ordnance bomb" in the sling channel and with an "AAM" (Augusta Arsenal) rebuild stamp on the left, an "IO" marked four-rivet handguard, and a blued "circle/IU" magazine. Includes a web sling and metal oiler. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 15 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 15 rounds. Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished, with most of the finish, light cycling wear, softened barrel markings, some brown patina showing, some limited minor spotting, and minor handling marks. The stock is very fine as sanded and re-oiled with a few minor scuffs and a small absent sliver on the right ahead of the oiler section. Mechanically excellent.

Receiver manufactured in 1943, from the "B" range of the first production block (serial numbers 1,798,000 to 1,875,039) manufactured by the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors, Grand Rapids, from July to September 1943. "9-43" dated Underwood barrel, "KV S'G'" marked type I barrel band, "S" and "RG S'G'" marked L flip peep rear sight, "S'G'" type II operating rod, "S'G'" blued flat top bolt, and "S'G'" milled trigger housing with "IP-A" push-button safety, "T-SG" type III magazine catch, and "S'G'" type III hammer. Fitted with a high-wood walnut stock marked faintly with a boxed "S'G'" and "ordnance wheel" stamps along with a boxed "RIA/EB" (U.S. Rock Island Arsenal, Elmer Bjerke) rebuild stamp on the right of the butt, a "RSG" deep groove two-rivet handguard, and a blued "K-S'G'" magazine. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 15 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 15 rounds. Rating Definition:

Fine as assembled back to World War II configuration, retaining much of the original finish with thinning on the balance revealing mostly brown patina, minor edge wear, some minor spotting, and light handling marks. The stock is fine as sanded and re-oiled. Mechanically excellent.
