Receiver manufactured in 1943, from the first production block (serial number range 1,000,000 to 1,349,999) manufactured by Winchester from October 1942 to December 1943. "6-43" dated Inland replacement barrel, "JI" marked type III barrel band, "I.R.CO." adjustable peep rear sight, "DA-Q" operating rod, "U" parkerized round-top bolt, and a "BE-B" fabricated trigger housing with stamped trigger guard, "CM" lever safety, type V magazine catch, and "WA" Type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut high-wood stock marked "W" in the sling channel along with a boxed "RIA/EB" (U.S. Rock Island Arsenal, Elmer Bjerke) rebuild stamp on the left of the wrist, an "IO" marked four-rivet handguard, and a blued "KSG" magazine. Very fine as arsenal refurbished and assembled, with some minor edge wear, some dried grease/brown patina showing, and minor handling marks. The stock is also very fine as arsenal refurbished with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
