Description:

36" OAL, 25 1/2" blade with fine grain and strong hamon (primarily straight with some chogi segments), and standard hilt and saya. Tang has one mekugi-ana, with a six-figure signature on the left side and nine-figure signature on the right, along with the number "243". A consignor-supplied translation gives the smith as Ugo Ju Kuniyoshi, a Showa-era smith active in Akita Prefecture, and attributes the sword as World War II production.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with minor spotting concentrated on the spine, light handling marks overall, and attractive grain and hamon.
