Tang has one mekugi-ana, with a six-figure signature on the left side and nine-figure signature on the right, along with the number "243". A consignor-supplied translation gives the smith as Ugo Ju Kuniyoshi, a Showa-era smith active in Akita Prefecture, and attributes the sword as World War II production.
