Originally manufactured by the Mauser factory under commercial contract for the Portuguese government in 1937 (designated the m/937B), but due to demand was diverted to the German Army for use in the early stages of World War II. Portuguese coat of arms marked and "1937" dated receiver ring with "eagle/swastika" and "eagle/63" German military proofs. Matching visible serial numbers on the barrel, bolt assembly, trigger housing, magazine floor plate, rear sight, and both barrel bands. Fitted with a walnut stock set with "eagle/swastika" and "eagle/swastika/WaA63" proofs the right of the butt, along with droop wing "eagle/WaA63" proofs and matching serial number on the underside. Includes a leather sling, muzzle cover, bayonet numbered to another rifle, metal scabbard, and leather frog.

Very fine, retaining much of the original blue finish with some minor edge wear, scattered minor patches of brown patina/spotting, dried grease, and some light handling marks. The stock is also very fine with scattered light compression marks and dents, and crisp stamps. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is very fine.
