A) U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Carbine

Description:

Receiver manufactured in late 1944 or early 1945, from the end of the fifth production block (serial number range 6,629,884 to 7,234,883) manufactured by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors from November 1944 to August 1945, which included M2 production. "12-44" dated Inland barrel, "SI" type III barrel band, "N" marked front sight, "H.I." type II adjustable peep rear sight, "P-I" type IV operating rod, "A.I." parkerized round-top bolt, and milled Inland trigger housing with "E.I." type IV magazine catch, unmarked push-button safety, and "H.I." type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut low-wood stock marked "IO" in the sling channel, with an "ordnance wheel" stamp on the right of the butt along with "R.R.A." (U.S. Red River Arsenal) and boxed "BA/JPL" (U.S. Benicia Arsenal, unknown inspector) rebuild stamps on the left, an "H.I." marked four-rivet handguard, and a blued "KSG" magazine. Includes a web sling and metal oiler. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 15 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 15 rounds. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, with most of the finish, some light edge wear, some limited patches of brown patina showing, and minor handling marks. The stock is also very fine as sanded and re-oiled with attractive fiddle-back grain. Mechanically excellent.

Receiver manufactured in late 1943, from the only production block (serial number range 1,982,520 to 2,352,519) manufactured by Standard Products from April 1943 to May 1944. "9-1943" dated Buffalo Arms barrel, unmarked type I barrel band, "N" marked front sight, "S" L-flip peep rear sight, "circle S" type III operating rod, "12/S" parkerized flat top bolt, and a "ST" fabricated trigger housing with unmarked push button safety, unmarked type III magazine catch, "SW" sear, and "SW" Type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut high-wood stock marked "S-HB" in the sling channel along with an "ordnance wheel" stamp on the right of the butt, a "S-HB" marked two-rivet handguard, and a blued "SY-B" magazine. Includes a web sling and metal oiler. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 15 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 15 rounds. Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished and subsequently restored to World War II configuration, retaining most of the finish with minor edge wear, minor cycling wear, some brown patina visible, limited pitting under the finish, and some light handling marks. The stock is fine as sanded and re-oiled. Mechanically excellent.
