A) "T" Subcontract Marked U.S. Underwood M1 Carbine

Description:

Receiver manufactured with "T" subcontractor marked receiver heel for Intertype, as part of the second production block from Underwood Elliot-Fisher between July 1943 to March 1944 in the 2352520-2912519 serial number range. "11-43" dated Underwood barrel, "P" marked front sight, "H" in a shield marked adjustable rear sight, "AI" marked type III barrel band, "PI" operating rod, "AI" flat top bolt, Inland milled trigger housing with "HI" magazine release, flip safety, and "HI" hammer, "W" four-rivet handguard, low wood walnut stock marked "RMC" in the sling inlet with a partly visible boxed "RIA/EB" Rock Island Arsenal rebuild cartouche stamp on the left. Includes a canvas web sling. Import marked barrel. Absent magazine.

Rating Definition:

Good as arsenal refurbished, with some finish mostly concentrated on the trigger housing, smooth brown patina, and scattered freckling and light pitting. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.

"2-44" dated Underwood barrel, "U" marked front sight, "I.R.Co." adjustable rear sight, "JM" marked type III barrel band, "SU" bayonet lug, unmarked operating rod, "AI" flat top bolt, "S'G'" milled trigger housing with "EJ" magazine release, flip safety, and "SW" hammer, "IO" two-rivet handguard, low wood M2 pot belly walnut stock with painted markings. Import marked barrel. Absent magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished, with some finish, and some scattered freckling and light pitting. Stock is good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
