Description:

Manufactured in early 1944, from the second production block (serial number range 5,549,922 to 5,834,618) by Winchester between December 1943 to November 1944, with Inland's serial production running into this range as well. Original, parts correct with "W" marked and "WP" proofed Winchester barrel, unmarked type II barrel band, unmarked front sight, "S" L-flip peep rear sight, "W" type III operating rod, "W" blued flat top bolt, and a "W" and "O" marked milled trigger housing with ""EW"" type III push button safety, later "W" type IV magazine catch, "W" sear, and "W" Type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut low-wood stock marked "W" in the sling channel along with an "ordnance wheel" cartouche and unboxed "W.R.A./G.H.D." (Winchester Repeating Arms, Lt. Col. Guy H. Drewry) inspection stamp, a "W" marked two-rivet handguard, and a blued "SW" magazine. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 15 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 15 rounds. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining original finish with some minor edge wear, some scattered patches of brown patina showing, some minor spotting/freckling, but otherwise minor handling marks. The stock is also very fine with some scattered light dents and scratches, a small crack visible on the right rear edge of the forearm, a small crack under the operating rod channel, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent.
