Description:

1956 production receiver, "CBI" marked and "10/22" dated replacement Criterion barrel with bright chamber ring, "-12SA/RE6B" marked bolt with electro-stenciled serial number from another rifle, post-war "SA" operating rod, and "-12-SA" trigger housing with "-7 SA" hammer, "-9SA" safety, and unmarked milled trigger guard. Fitted with a replacement reproduction walnut stock set with "CMP eagle" stamp on the left of the wrist.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally refinished and re-barreled, retaining much of the finish with silvering on the gas cylinder, minor edge wear, light cycling wear, and minor handling marks. The replacement reproduction stock is also very fine. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Receiver manufactured in late 1943, from the first production block (serial number range 3,250,020 to 3,651,519, with those above 3.56 million used by S'G' Grand Rapids) manufactured by the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors from May 1943 to May 1944. Inland barrel dated "6-44", "MMQ" marked type III barrel band, "I.R.CO." marked adjustable peep rear sight, "PI" type III operating rod, "AOB" parkerized flat top bolt, and "S'G'" milled trigger housing with "C/M" rotary safety, "C" type IV magazine catch, and "W" type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut low-wood stock marked "W" in the sling channel, and a "HI" marked four-rivet handguard. Includes a M1907 pattern leather sporting sling. Magazine is absent.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining much of the finish with some light edge wear, minor cycling wear, some minor patches of spotting/freckling, and minor handling marks. The stock is fine as sanded and re-oiled. Mechanically excellent.
