Bore Condition: The bore is shiny with crisp rifling and some minor streaking.
Description:

Receiver manufactured in March 1945, with "D28291 35" drawing number, "1 S-A-3 45" marked barrel with bright chamber ring, correct World War II era Springfield Armory wide base gas cylinder with chamfered lock, solid lower band retaining pin, type 3 square bar lock-bar low pinion rear sight assembly, "-19SA/A-8" bolt, un-cut flat-side "9 SA" operating rod, "12" follower, and "-14-SA" trigger housing with "-8 SA" hammer, and "SA-11" safety. Fitted with a set of walnut handguards and stock stamped with boxed "S.A./G.A.W." cartouche (U.S. Springfield Armory, Col. George A. Woody) and "ordnance wheel" escutcheon on the left of the wrist. Includes a period "MILSCO/1944" M1907 leather sling, undated "U.F.H." (Union Fork & Hoe Co.) M1905E1 10 inch bayonet with "U.S. M7" marked scabbard, and five post-war production small "SA" coded en-bloc clips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining nearly all of the original finish with some plum coloration on the safety, some minor handling marks, and some minor edge wear. The stock is also very fine with some minor compression marks. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is fine.
