Description:

1) Three cowboys roping a steer. Oil on board in custom oak leaf design-style wooden frame. This large over-the-mantle painting depicts the dynamic action of one cowboy on horseback trying to rope a steer while two other cowboys flank the steer to entrap it for the roping cowboy. The painting is signed in the lower right corner: "R/B Wilson." Great color and action. Slight damage to frame, but no damage to painting. Cleaned recently. Dimensions: 35" x 32". 2) Portrait of swordsman. Oil on canvas in original gilt wood frame. This painting by Paul Barnes (American, 19th/20th century) depicts a lone chevalier dressed in 18th century apparel holding his down-turned sword in his right hand. This colorfully dressed swordsman is ready for a duel or fight. The frame is flaking and delicate and is partially separated from the canvas, but the painting is intact with no flakes. Dimensions: 14 3/4" x 19 3/4". 3) Landscape of woods and lake. Oil on board in original gilded wood frame. This unsigned 19th century painting depicts a view of a lake side looking out from the forest toward a shimmering lake flanked by mountains and craggy rocks. An ideal Hudson Valley scene that could have been done by numerous artists who depicted the early west frontier of that time. Dimensions: 13 1/2" x 16 1/2". Moderate storage wear.
