Manufactured in 1940. 2 3/4" chamber, "WS-1" marked barrel, Lyman Cutt's compensator, and 14 1/4" LOP. Custom forend and buttstock with silver grip cap inscribed "RUSSEL BARNETT AITKEN/HAWK HILL/SHOOT/CHAMPION/1940-41-42" Russel Aitken was an artist, marksman, philanthropist, and big game hunter. Two rooms of armor are named for him at the Metropolitan Museum of art, as is the sea bird display at the Bronx Zoo. He was also a generous and early donator to the World Wildlife Fund, National Audubon Society, and one of the best skeet shooters in the nation during the 1940s.
