The receiver is marked "U.S./MODEL OF 1917/REMINGTON" in three lines over the serial number. The rifle barrel is marked "R/flaming bomb/3-18". The bolt has the Eddystone "E" stamped on the bottom. The receiver is stamped with an Ordnance Bomb on the left rail and two Eagle Head inspection marks, one over "E7" and the other "E3" on the top of the receiver rail, "eagle head/259" on the bolt release lever and an eagle head proof next to the safety lever. Flip up rear sight graduated to 1,600 yards and marked with an "R" on the bottom. The left side of the front sight base and the right side of the front sight are marked with an "R". Smooth straight grip stock with bayonet lug and stacking swivel on the front band, full hand guard, boxed "S.A.A." and "E" cartouches on the left side, swing swivels, tan canvas sling, grooved forearm, and smooth metal buttplate.
