Description:

"US" and "flaming bomb" ordnance proofs on receiver. Right side of stock numbered "265950". "crown" markings present on both barrel bands. Consignor states few rolling blocks can be found with "US" markings and that the rifle was captured or purchased from Philippine insurgents, marked "US", and then given to local constabulary. Provenance: Colonel Brent Goodwin, U.S. Army (retired), a lifetime collector of the Remington Rolling Block military rifles of the world, is recognized as one of the leading experts regarding their many types and variations. Over the past 50 years his collection has contained at least one of every type, including those manufactured in other nations under license from Remington.
