13 3/4" OAL, 8 3/4" clip point blade with "TEXAS/U.S. [rider] M.R." etched on the right for the U.S. Mounted Rifles. The gilt brass guard takes the form of two bestial heads with matching engraving. The spiral fluted grip is relief carved with geometric and floral designs, while the pommel is gilt brass cast with floral motifs. Fine, the blade mostly bright grey with some scattered light spotting/pitting, the pommel and guard retain much of the gilt finish with the balance an attractively aged brass, and the grip is fine with minimal wear and crisp carving.
