Description:

There are two fobs on the chain of this watch, one marked for "Wm. Kail./Gilmore./O.", who the consignor attributes as William Kailey, and another for the 26th meeting of the Grand Army of the Republic. Included consignor notes indicate that William Kailey was a private in Co. C of the 14th Ohio Infantry. The movement cover on the watch is marked "Jules Huguenin/Locle/No 20649/Patent Lever/FULL/ruby jewel'd". The interior of the back lid of the silver case is marked "CG" and "20649". The exterior is lightly textured and engraved with floral motifs on both sides. Also includes a winding key. The case shows an attractive antique patina overall with some mild wear. The face is very fine with minimal wear and the glass has some scattered light scratches and handling marks. The watch was not wound to test functionality.
