Description:

1) L-shaped handle is relief engraved with floral motifs, inscribed on both sides "To our friend/Gerry/Aug 26.-1896." and "From/J.P. and H.G.", with "B" maker's mark near the bottom. The shaft has an attractive grain and may be a fruit wood, tipped with plastic. Measures 34 1/4" overall. 2) Knob type gilt handle relief carved with flower motifs, inscribed "Presented/by/William/to his/Father" on top. The ebonized shaft is tipped with iron. Measures 36 1/4" overall. Both are very good, retaining much of the gilt and shaft finishes with mild wear.
