Description:

This pistol featuring scarce and correct factory pearl grip panels (without medallions) is pictured and described on page 195 of "Savage Pistols" by Bailey Brower Jr.. Savage omitted the medallions from the Model 1917 mother-of-pearl grips due to the delicate nature of the design. The pistol appears to be a special order or "lunch box" gun. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”
