Description:

This model was produced for almost the entire first half of the 20th Century, from 1898 to 1944. This particular revolver was shipped out on March 9th, 1932, as part of order #10843/100, to the Phil B. Bekeart Company in San Francisco, with three similar revolvers, listed as being 38 Colt caliber. On June 16th, 1933, the gun was returned to the factory, and reshipped to H & D Folsom Arms in New York on February 3rd, 1933 (these dates come from a Colt factory letter issued November of 2003, included with gun, which also verifies the key features) as a 38 Special. Fixed blade front sight with three patent dates ending in 1926 on top of barrel and "NEW SERVICE 38 SPECIAL". Frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo on the rear left, equipped with a checkered hammer and trigger. Checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions inlaid in both sides. In wooden case made for an unidentified revolver, with locking lid, blue felt lined French cut interior, with a space for a small plaque. Formerly of the Robert Stack Collection.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, with 99% of the original high polish blue remaining. There is some very light wear on the high edges, and some minor spotting. The action is superb. The case is very good, with some scuffing on the outside, and the inside has been slightly damaged by the revolver.
