Description:

Also known as the Alaskan or Philippine Model, this is Colt's Model 1878 "Frontier" revolver as produced for the U.S. Ordinance Department in 1902. The most visible change from the commercial model is the oversized trigger and guard, made to accommodate a shooter with heavy gloves. The frame is marked "RAC on the left side of the trigger guard and backstrap knuckle, and on the right side is marked "US" under the matching number cylinder, "1902" above the trigger guard, and "J.T.T." on the knuckle. Checkered rubber grips with triangle inlay and Rampant Colt logos, ending in a bird's head butt with lanyard swivel.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with approximately 30% of the original blue finish remaining, with some pitting overall. A mixed brown and gray patina shows on most of the surface, with some pitting in the gray areas, and original blue mostly in the protected areas. The grips have faded to a light brown, with some light wear and scratches. The action needs minor work.
