Made in 1948. Intricate scroll engraving covers virtually the entire surface of this gun. The detailed pattern with a punch dot background envelops the barrel, vent rib, frame, fluted cylinder, trigger guard, and butt. The skilled engraving resembles factory work, but the gun is unsigned. The King front sight has a square red bead and is mounted in front of the mirror inset in the king ventilated rib. The adjustable rear sight is also mounted on the rib which is stamped "COLT-KING SUPER TARGET" on the left side amidst the engraving. Grooved trigger and checkered Kings Cockeyed Hammer. Checkered walnut grips have nickel Colt medallions inlaid in both sides. This is a truly unique Colt King Super Target Colt revolver that is beautifully engraved.

Excellent plus condition. Approximately 99% of custom blue finish remains. Few handling marks on edges, slight drag line on cylinder. Grips show little wear and are also excellent. Action works like new.
