This is an excellent example of an early unaltered preban SP-1 (AR 15) Carbine as manufactured by Colt Firearms. This carbine is a semi-automatic version of the M-16 carbine. It has the original Colt aluminum sliding buttstock with the military style front sight and two position folding adjustable rear aperture sight. The barrel is equipped with a birdcage style flash hider, heat shield, and bayonet lug. The lower receiver has the Rampant Colt imprint, AR-15 markings (indicating pre-1989 manufacture), with no shell deflector or forward assist. It is complete with the original matching (numbered and marked on the end) box with one Colt marked 20 round magazine for the carbine and three unmarked extra 30 round magazines, Colt black nylon sling, cleaning rod and owner's manual.

This carbine appears to be new and unfired in the original box.
