This is an excellent example of a Custom Built "State Arms Company" 50 Cal Single Shot long Range target rifle. These rifles are typically of what is used for long range rifle matches, that are conducted at 1500 yards or more. It is a single shot design that is very similar to the first 50 cal rifles introduced by the Daisy company in the late 1970s and early 1980s which was later purchased by the Iver Johnson company and used very successfully by the Navy SEALs in the early 1980s. It has a thick receiver that is 4 1/2 inches long with a 6 inch long, dual locking lug bolt with no extractor. The bolt has to be removed each time from the receiver to fire the rifle and a cartridge is slide or inserted into the face of the bolt. It has a massive barrel that is approximately 1.750 diameter at the breech that tapers down to approximately 1.600 at the muzzle. It comes with a custom made muzzle brake and a custom made 7 1/2 inch flashider. It has no fixed sights and the top of the receiver has a custom made scope base that has a "Tasco Custom Shop" 8 X 40 power scope with a 2 1/2 inch objective lens with a 6 inch sunshade attached with plastic lens covers. The scope has a standard Duplex crosshairs with a bullet drop compensated elevation knob with a large focus wheel on the left side of the scope that is graduated form 50 yards to 400 and infinity. The only external markings on the receiver are the serial number "SE 53" with a Iron Cross proof mark, the barrel is marked ".50 BMG" and the scope base is marked "STATE ARMS GUN CO./ WAUNAKEE WI. U.S.A.". It is fitted in a custom laminated thumbhole pistol grip stock with contrasting light and dark laminates (probably maple) with a black vented rubber Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. The stock is fitted with a massive Parker Hale style folding bipod that is attached to the front of the stock via a spigot. The bipod has the typical large skid feet on the bottom with 6 inch extendable legs. The rifle is complete in a padded green carrying case.
