Description:

1. 26 inch single fuller curved blade marked "anchor/ U. S. N. / D. R / 1862" on the right ricasso, with double stamped Ames marking on the left ricasso partially obscured by pitting. "17M/723" is stamped upside down on the guillion and "D.R" appears again on top of the pommel. COND: The blade is evenly pitted and has a mostly dark patina. The knuckle guard is good with shallow dents. The grip has been re-covered with very light wire wrap added. 2. Same with only the 1862 date and fragments of the Ames marking remaining. The blade has been shortened and heavily ground to reshape. COND: Poor. The bottom half of the grip, all of the cover and wrap is missing. The guard is battered with cuts and cracks.
