Description:

Made in 1894 and shipped to Simmons Hardware on the first of March of that year, as part of a 20 pistol set. Blade front sight on barrel with standard two line Colt address and "41 COLT." caliber marking. Two line, three date patent markings on the frame next to the circled Rampant Colt. The butt has been spuriously double stamped "US". Checkered hard rubber grips numbered to gun with Rampant Colt logos at the top. The documents included are copies of original documents prepared by the ATF and Colt Manufacturing Company. The ATF, Colt Historical Research Department, and Colt Firearms Control Staff researched each firearm. This was part of an ATF investigation to ensure that each of the firearms were in fact original and not forgeries or renumbered in any way. The facts on the research information sheets are directly from the Colt records and Colt Historical Research Department.

Rating Definition:

Fine (with exception noted above), with approximately 50% of the original finish, and some light overall spotting. The barrel has some scratching running down the length, along with some dings and the start of a mottled brown patina. The casehardening on the frame has faded to a light brown, though crisp original traces of the original casehardening remain strong. The grip straps have strong blue on the sides and the protected area around the trigger guard, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall. The grips are excellent, with some light chips and wear. The action is excellent.
